About me

Hi, my name is Mark Ossendryver and I have been involved in photography for over 20 years.
Having photographed just about everything from specialist macro to underwater, rock climbing, sports events and a wedding or two, I have a pretty good understanding of how the camera works and what is needed to create a great image. These days, my main photographic passion is teaching.

Besides teaching photography, I am involved in project management and design of commercial and corporate interiors. I am a single father, enjoy travel and I keep fit with boxing, mountain biking and playing league touch rugby.

The courses I offer are straightforward, professional and up to date with the latest techniques and technology but taught in easy to understand layman’s terms. I battled to learn in a classroom environment at school (still do to this day!) so understand the challenges some people endure when facing a class like this. I also understand that many of you have not been in a learning environment for many years so I have created the course and the teaching environment to allow everyone to thrive.

Photography is best learned in a rational order, with a mixture of theory and practical sessions. I guarantee that no matter what your current level of photography, you will gain an extended knowledge of photography and develop an instinctive  “feeling’ for capturing images.
I work predominantly with natural light, in other words, sunlight. Any artificial lights I use are lights that you would find in your home, I do not use studio lighting at all.
